Barbara Erochina is an feelings coach for healers and leaders. She offers coaching insight, retreats and resources for smart, hardworking women who are ready to feel less anxious and insecure.

In this conversation, Barbara and I dig deep into sitting with and FEELING our feelings. We talk about her journey with spirituality and her experience as a queer woman in the evangelical community. We talked about being able to set boundaries with friends and family, especially when you're going through a hard time (like recovery, for example!). And we talked about reframing our emotions; shifting from 'positive' and 'negative' to 'easy' and 'hard' feelings. She also shared her experience with intuitive eating and her relationship with her body, and how this process is has a repetition of rejecting diet culture over and over again.

Barbara is full of wisdom, love, and insight and I can't wait to share this convo with you all!

In this month's solo episode, we're talking about the most commonly googled phrase in the eating disorder field, 'Do I have an eating disorder?"

I wanted to make this episode because I know that when I was most struggling with my own eating disorder, I really didn't know how many of the things I was experiencing were actually symptoms of my disordered eating behaviors and thought patterns. My hope is that this episode opens the door for some of you listening to get curious about your own relationship with food, movement and your body so that you can start to get the support you need to heal and recover.

In the episode I outline some of the common behavioral symptoms as well as some physical symptoms. And I also share some resources for those who are listening and want to get the support.

Resources mentioned:

NEDA (National Eating Disorder Association)- learn more, take their free screening & get connected to support

Ophelia's Place- for those of you in the CNY area who want to get connected to resources

Anthony Demario is a feeler, speaker, poet, radio dude and coffee lover on a mission to make a positive difference in peoples' lives through writing, personality and talks that are powerfully healing, energizing, and relatable. Anthony is also a proud advocate for the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention and is a light in the dark for those struggling with anxiety, depression or suicidal thoughts.

In this episode Anthony and I talk through his history with depression and anxiety, how he keeps up his emotional 'fitness,' being a 'feeler,' or highly sensitive, and the power of feeling all those icky feelings.

And of course we talked about body image, the movement mindset,  and emotional eating.

Amy Kuretsky is back for a third time but this time we're talking about her newest offering, breathwork. Amy recently went through David Elliott's healer training and is now offering guided breathwork in both 1-on-1 sessions as well as through her newest subscription service, Monthly Medicine.

Amy and I dig into what this style of breathwork looks like, where it comes from, and what this work can do to help us continue healing our bodies, our hearts and our spirits.

I'm particularly stoked about this work because I truly believe it is an invaluable tool for healing our relationships with food, our bodies, recovery from an eating disorder, healing feelings of unworthiness and body dissatisfaction and so much more.

Casey Rose Frank is a proud book-nerd, freelance writer, cat mom, board member for Ophelia's PlaceCircles of Change warrior and all around sweetheart of a human being. I met Casey in my time at Cafe at 407 and was instantly drawn to her warm & bubbly persona as well as her ability to live and work as a freelancer and kick ass at it.

I wanted to have Casey on because I know how much writing has changed my own life, my connection to self & spirit, as well as the huge role it played in my body acceptance journey, and wanted to hear her own story.

In this episode Casey and I talk about her life-long connection to all things bookish, writing, self expression and mental health, Intuitive Eating & how both chosen and non-chosen dietary restrictions can play a part IF you're not still caught up in diet culture.

Haley Quinn is finally (wooh!) back for another segment of Relevant & Resonant, which is a once monthly segment where my media guru, Haley, and I have tangential chats about what is going on in the world, in the media and in our culture and how those events & situations relate to our health, body image, and healing.

In this installment, Haley and I dive into coping with all the "new year, new you" messages (especially for those of us who are really trying to heal), the very refreshing energy of this new year (for more on this year's energy go back and listen to episode 32!) and some of the powerful stuff going on in the media, and in the world for women (Hello, Me TooTimes Up and Oprah!!).

In the final podcast of 2017, we dig into why your new years resolutions don't work, how shifting towards setting value and spirit-aligned intentions does, and how intuition and intention go hand in hand to keep your self care game strong.

New years holds a lot of power for us to create change with. And holds even more power as it is the year of the high priestess- a year for using our intuitions, honoring intentions, and surrendering to the ease, slow and flow instead of stacking to-do's and shoulds on our already full plates. This episode will help you reframe your mindset around the new year and motivate you to get dreamy & intentional for what you want in 2018.
